The microphone is used to record voice notes while you listen to a document. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in SFSpeechRecognizer — no audio is sent to any server.
Speech recognition converts your spoken voice notes into text. This processing happens on-device. You can deny the permission, but voice note transcription won't be available.
While a document is being read aloud, tap the record button to capture a voice note. Your note is automatically linked to the position in the text where you recorded it, so you can revisit your thoughts in context later.
